| The info here is based on newspaper articles, South Kingstown High School handouts, and a quick skim of some scholarship files. It's very unofficial and surely incomplete. It's always undergoing revision as more news comes in. Some of this stuff may apply only to South Kingstown High School. As is done here, some high schools, like SKHS, classify scholarships in four different ways. Name sorts are inconsistent. Warning: Don't ever pay anyone to find a scholarship for you. Is your high school on line? If not, why not? IDS (and probably other ISP's) will give you free web space. Then you can post your school bulletins and scholarship information so parents can easily search for information. There's probably even parents who are willing to volunteer to do much of the work. How is nationality determined? ... as, for example, in those scholarships where one must be of African-American descent to qualify. What would those (seemingly) white people who are the product of a union between Thomas Jefferson and one of his black slaves have to show to qualify? Is there a certain percentage involved? |
